During a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich grabbed a stadium microphone and told the team's fans to stop booing Clippers star Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard, who played for the Spurs and demanded a trade back in 2018, was booed nearly every time he took possession of the ball in the first half of the game. Popovich was clearly frustrated with the fans' behavior and decided to intervene.

"I'm sorry, can we just stop all the booing and let these guys get on with the game?" Popovich told the dumbfounded crowd.

"It's not classy, it's not our style. Stop the booing.

The comment drew mixed reactions from fans, with some cheering for the coach and others continuing to boo.

Despite the interference, Leonard played a great game, leading the Clippers to a 109-102 victory over his old team. He scored 26 points.

After the game, Popovich said he didn't want to give Leonard any extra incentive to perform well.

"You can't poke the bear," Popovich said.

"Anybody who knows sports knows you can't poke a bear. That's my answer."

The Spurs are currently at the bottom of the Western Conference standings and are not expected to make the playoffs this season. However, they have the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, which they will use to select French first-rounder Victor Vumbanyama.

In the game, Wambanyama lived up to his name with 22 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 caps.
